What’s the best banner material for a custom build exhibition stand?

  1. I would recommend a black-back polyester knitted textile – there’s many different types out there, typically from 220 to 280gsm in weight and have a block-out black back covering, they are the ideal banner or SEG material for use on bespoke and modular exhibition stands.

    Why?:

    • The fabric has a slight stretch – no more wrinkles on banner wraps over stock panels and great for SEG/TFS graphics or modular stands
    • Block-out black-back coating means stock panels don’t need filled and painted - saving you time and money
    • Bright white prints surface giving a great print whether your printing using UV, latex or dye-sub print process
    • PVC free and can be recycled
    • B1 Fire rated as required in most exhibition venues
    • Tg - Seg - Sq

What not to use for your banner wraps? PVC banner.

  1. Why?

    • it’s generally quite thick at 440gsm and stiff so it does not stretch, which can cause ripples when used to cover stock panels. Unless you’re using a block-out version, you will see through the banner – the block-out PVC being much heavier weight, consequently an even poorer choice for banner wraps.
    • Although not impossible to recycle, there are far fewer places that can recycle PVC banner vs polyester fabrics.
    • Often PVC banner does not have a fire rating, so is not a good choice for use in exhibition halls.
